Jeff brings over 30 years of investment banking and corporate advisory experience to Mavericks Capital. Mavericks is a healthcare-only investment bank that specializes in M&A, capital raises and strategic partnerships for therapeutic, device, diagnostic, services, and digital health companies. While boutique in size, it has i) global reach, ii) extensive operating experience (3 team members have taken their own companies public on NASDAQ and one on the Japanese Motherboard), iii) deep scientific and medical expertise (5 PhDs and 2 MDs), and iv) deep academic ties (3 members served as faculty at Harvard, University of Pennsylvania, and Stanford Medical Schools, respectively).
Jeff started his career at Morgan Stanley in 1980 and later moved to Goldman Sachs through the early 1990s. He had over $5B in transaction experience before starting his own investment bank in Silicon Valley. In addition to extensive knowledge of capital raising and merger & acquisitions, Jeff has advised clients on corporate strategy, business valuation, and a wide range of strategic partnership structures.
Jeff holds an MBA from Dartmouth’s Amos Tuck School of Business Administration (Tuck Scholar) and a BA in Economics from Dartmouth College. He later received an MA in Comparative Philosophy and Religion on the west coast. Jeff is an avid skier and cyclist and is passionate about philosophy, the history of ideas, poker theory, and global economic analysis. (FINRA 7, 24, 63, 79, 99)
